Stacks Pancake House and Restaurant in Elkhart

I hope this was just a bad day but the service was extremely slow. 55 minutes from the time we sat down until our food arrived and there were only two of us. Food was barely warm but after such a long wait, didn't want to complain and add more time. Food tasted good but there are alot of breakfast places around so we won't be putting this one at the top of our list.

Great Poached Eggs, Great Fruit Plate...bring real Maple Syrup

Great place to eat. They were pretty busy on this Sunday afternoon but we were seated and had our order taken within the first 10 min. I only had the side of fruit and bacon but that fruit plate alone was worth coming in. All of it was fresh and a full size plate plum full. Everyone with ne gadd something different and we're all overly pleased! Definitely stop in!!😁😁

The biscuits and gravy omelette is quite possibly the most fantastic breakfast dish ever. I'm not sure what evil genius came up with this plate full of happiness but my hat is off to them! The pancakes are also off the charts but with a name like Stacks, I was hoping they would be. Prices are fair, portions are generous, coffee is hot, staff is friendly, food is good, what else can you ask for?

Maybe I just caught it on the good cooks day off....Wait staff was attentive. Portions generous. However food was poorly prepared and tasted.'off'. Like it was grilled in old oil. Scrambled eggs were clearly mixed with something that gave them a bitter undertone. That plus the prices and I would not recommend this as a breakfast spot.

This was a great place for a hearty brunch. Quick, attentive service, and quality, home style food. We were there on a Sunday morning, as no they had both large groups and plenty of families and couples. Definitely a popular local restaurant that we will try again. It was clean and not too loud. Decor is meh, but you don't go there for a fancy atmosphere. You go there for solid, hearty food at a decent price.

The service was excellent, my coffee cup was never empty and our server checked on us several times. My husband enjoyed his breakfast very much. My pancakes just were not all I had hoped for. The syrup had a different taste. It wasn't real butter served with the pancakes.Hopefully, next time we go, it will be better!

The food was not that amazing and it was super slow to come and the place was almost empty. My coffee cup was never refilled and it was pretty tiny. Just not worth what they are charging at all. I see why it's not a place that's filled with people. A good pancake House is packed till close on the weekend. That's not this place.

Love the menu, lots of options and portion sizes are very good. Fast and good service too.

You can eat breakfast all day

We visited On Saturday, 11/9/19 at 10:00. On the plus side, we didn't have to wait for a table. Food was average. However, the service we received from our waitress was terrible. We waited at least 5 min to have our drink order taken & filled. My husband's coffee cup sat empty, awaiting a refill, for 10 minutes the 1st time & at least that the second time. I had to grab an extra set of silverware as our waitress never brought one, even though she knew we had 5 in our party, not 4. When I got up & sought her out for a coffee refill, our waitress got very snippy with me. Maybe, they should ensure they have enough wait staff to take care of their patrons. Sorry, not sorry, she received no tip due to both her lack if service & her attitude. Not sure we'll give them another chance.

Best breakfast omelets I've had sence I moved north. Great coffee, good for dining alone or in large groups.

Great service, waitress was excellent, the omelette with hash was very dry and I did not know you had to ask for cheese in the omelette. Over all it is a great place to eat.

I had high hopes for this breakfast place along one of my work routes. The bacon was cheap and tasted like the microwaved kind, the pancake was too thick and chewy. Eggs and coffee were fine. Friendly staff.

Our waitress was so awesome! She was very sweet to my toddler who was being grumpy that morning.

First time at this quaint cozy restaurant. The food was great. Large portions, beautiful presentation, and great service. I will definitely return!! The only issue I had was purchasing their signature Pepper Sauce. As an afterthought, I decided to buy two bottles. I went to the counter, asked how much they were, noticed the sign stating the price, and paid for the sauce. I then waited in excess of 5 minutes to get my purchase. Order it from your server, you will get it much quicker. The sauce is worth it.

Good food & reasonably priced. But, we had to go up and ask for a box and our bill after sitting there for over 15 minutes after we was done eating.

They give you four pancakes on a short stack and 6 for a regular order. They were very good. The waitress was attentive and friendly. Our party enjoyed our breakfast and would recommend their breakfast.

Just stopped in today and didn't have a good experience. If you ask for an empty plate, they charge you $3. Who does that?! The guy doing the seating was very stressed and kinda rude. We have been in many times before, but every time it gets a little worse. Their prices on the menu didn't match what we were charged and they couldn't provide everything that was on their menu.

Excellent service & food

I am VERY concerned for the CHILD WORKING in this establishment. She looks no older than 11 years old. She was bussing and preping tables in the middle of a pandemic nonetheless. Completely unacceptable. She looked miserable.

The Wait is always Friendly and Attentive. They serve the food quickly and the Restaurant is Very Clean Too! Been there3 times, each time was as good as the 1st!
